Ramsey County attorney Susan Gaertner is saying the right things about a 2010 run for governor.

Gaertner will have a tough road to the nomination, but there will be plenty of time for that later...LESS than three and a half years before the convention. Right now, we all need to be focusing on the 2008 races - 2010 is just too far away.

This bipartisanship thing, by the way, certainly has lasted a long time. Rep. Patrick McHenry (and isn't that a great name?) is already talking about the Democrats as tax-n'-spend liberals.

Mark Dayton is thinking of running for governor in 2010. There are second acts in politics, but this one isn't going to happen.

Dayton wasn't a bad senator, but he doesn't have the charisma (or the approval ratings) for another run at elected office. For all of our sakes, he should stay out of the 2010 race. Even so, he has been added to the possible candidates on the right sidebar.
